Silver Lake Support Day

Help your unhoused neighbors navigate SELAH services and LA City services at our next Support Day with Council District 4!

During Support Days, SELAH volunteers provide our usual services for unhoused participants — including hot meals, clothing, hygiene products, friendly conversation, and more — while various community groups and LA City/County programs join us to provide services.

For this Support Day, we'll be joined by the DMV, Department of Public Health, DPSS, LA County Registrar, Planned Parenthood, Community Health Project LA, Ascencia, haircut services, legal support services, domestic violence support services,  phone programs, and more.

Volunteering on Support Day is an opportunity to work with our unhoused neighbors and facilitate access to essential services in one place, while also learning more about housing and social services in Los Angeles. These kinds of services — from birth certificate requests to medical appointments — are frequently inaccessible due to limited scheduling, lack of transportation, and cost. On Support Days, we can bring these agencies together in one area where participants feel comfortable among familiar neighbors.
